In vitro fertilization (IVF)

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a highly complex technique in which an egg is fertilized with ICSI/PICSI sperm in a laboratory setting. Three to five days after fertilization, the resulting embryo is transferred into the uterus using a catheter. To obtain the eggs, it is necessary for the woman to undergo controlled Ovarian Stimulation by taking medication.

IVF can be performed using the traditional method or by utilizing Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). This technique is recommended for couples who have previously undergone multiple unsuccessful artificial insemination treatments, have obstructions in the fallopian tubes or their absence due to surgery, suffer from endometriosis, or have a severe male factor affecting fertility

Service Benefits

Our IVF lab is located in the medical section of the clinic, in an environment where air pressure, temperature and purity are carefully controlled 365 days a year.

The equipment used for every function in the IVF lab was chosen based on its compliance to very strict performance criteria established by our IVF Director, one of the leading embryologists in the world. Our facilities, equipment, methods and staff all work together to provide our patients very high success rates while attending to their individual needs. To us, each patient deserves personal, direct attention from everyone involved in their treatment. Our success rates certifiably meet or exceed those of some of the most renowned Fertility Centers in Europe, Japan and North America.

How It Works ?

During IVF, an egg is removed from the woman’s ovaries and fertilised with sperm in a laboratory. The fertilised egg, called an embryo, is then returned to the woman’s womb to grow and develop

Ovarian stimulation is performed using injected medications to achieve multiple ovulation. During this period, a series of ultrasounds and blood tests are performed to ensure that the growth and evolution of the follicles is adequate.
Once the desired follicular size has been reached, an injection of hCG is applied and ovular capture is programmed 36 hours later

Capture is the procedure by which the doctor removes the eggs. It is performed in the operating room, under sedation. It lasts approximately 15 minutes.

The fertilization of the ovules can be carried out by means of a conventional in vitro fertilization that consists of placing an egg surrounded by sperm or by means of the ICSI technique, which consists of injecting a sperm into the ovule. Later the embryos are observed daily and classified (during 3 or 5 days depending on the case). Once the best embryos are selected, they are transferred to the uterine cavity and the rest are vitrified

It consists of the introduction of embryos into the uterine cavity through a cannula.
